Quality Hotel Accommodation in the Derbyshire Peak District, UK, close to Dovedale, Chatsworth Estate and Hartington.


Biggin Hall Country House stands in its own spacious grounds of eight acres and is a protected building of historic interest, Grade II * listed. The present owners have completely renovated it, in keeping with its original character.

Many of the stone mullioned leaded windows have only recently seen daylight again after their obliteration during the window taxes of the 1790's.

The lounge has the date 1672 above the massive stone fireplace and the main entrance contains an oak panelled lobby of considerable antiquity.
Despite the antiquity of the room, it is very up to date in some respects, as you will note if you use the WiFi facility we have installed.

Dinner in our dining room, which looks out across the lawn, is one of the highlights of your stay, when the open fire, excellent food, and a good selection of wines all combine to create a convivial atmosphere for an enjoyable meal.

Many guests return year after year to sample the delights of our traditional home cooking. Much of the food is of local origin with the accent on free range wholefoods and natural flavours, together with a seasonal selection of vegetables.

Visitors have a choice of two sitting rooms, one with a library, the other with a large open fire place and there is a separate dining room.

Our rooms are spacious and individually furnished. In addition to the 'Master Suite' - a luxurious four poster bedded room - there are six double / twin bedrooms in the main house, all with their own bathrooms en suite, and a suite of two rooms sharing an adjoining bathroom

We have a total of twelve more rooms available in converted former outbuildings - The Courtyard, Bothy and Lodge. All rooms have a colour T.V and tea making facilities.

We do accept dogs. However, please let us know in advance if you wish to bring your dog(s) with you.
We have facilities for most small functions, including a spacious meeting room.

Breakfast is served in the Main House restaurant between 8.00pm & 9.00pm. This is a selection of Full English hot buffet.& a selection of cereals & meuslis with fruit & yoghurt.
