Many of our local railways are having steam weekends - Peak Rail, Ecclesbourne Valley & Churnet Valley railways are all within 30mins of Biggin Hall. On a smaller scale there is the Steeple Grange Light Railway near Wirksworth - www.steeplegrange.co.uk - which has events running through the summer.
