Biggin Hall Country House Hotel, Derbyshire Peak DistrictBiggin Hall is located in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District, with its rolling limestone hills and river valleys. Biggin itself is a small, friendly village nestled in the countryside between the market towns of Ashbourne and Leek, and the spa town of Buxton. The beautiful haven of Hartington is close by, where the legendary "Ye Olde Cheese Shoppe" serves a variety of delicious local cheeses. There are also several quality public houses in the area which serve meals and a friendly drinking atmosphere. Dovedale stepping stones are about 5 miles away from the Hall. Dovedale itself is an area of natural beauty which makes it a perfect place to enjoy a stroll. Also, the Tissington Trail and the High Peak Trail run past Biggin, these old railway routes converted into cycle trails are a great way to see the countryside. Along the trail there are centres where bicycles can be hired. A great expanse of countryside lies in wait for you to explore. Along with beautiful rolling hills there are spectacular rivers, flora and fauna to capture your attention. In every season there is something new to see in this superb area. Rain, sun and snow change the landscapes into different dramatic views.
